The Rotary Club of Bangkok South received its charter on August 7, 1961 and held it’s annual Club Birthday lunch at Crowne Plaza

Rotary Club of Bangkok South held its annual Installation Dinner at the Dusit Thani Hotel on Saturday 30 June 2012.
During the dinner, Outgoing President Mark Butters reported on the Club’s activities for 2011/2012, while those members with 100% attendance during the year received recognition and three members, Past President Nart Liuchareon, Rtn. Vinai Phuttinin and Rtn. Gary White received Honorary Paul Harris Fellows for their services to the Club.
The evening concluded with the installation of Nick Pisalyaput as the Club President for the 2012/2013 year and the Board of Directors for the year.

Dominic Faulder, Senior Editor and Didier Millet, Publisher, of the beautiful book, “King Bhumibol Adulyadej, A Life’s Work”, presented an overview of their work, along with a number of insights and comments one needed to be there to appreciate.
The book, according to its over-view on the Asia Books website, is about King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the world’s longest reigning monarch.

On Wednesday, 4 April 2012, President Mark Butters represented RC Bangkok South at the opening of the KSN Community IT Learning Center, Office of the Non-Formal and Informal Education, Huaykwang District, Huaykwang Community.
This project was made possible by a generous 550,000 Baht (USD 18,000) donation from CIMB Foundation and helped to purchase 13 computers, related equipment, multimedia systems and new furniture for the center, as well as a general refurbishment of the space.
This provides an opportunity to approximately 1,200 students and community low-income people who lacked the resources to gain access to IT education.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of service to the community, the Rotary Club of Bangkok South held their annual ‘Coins on Silom’ fundraising event in Bangkok on Friday, January 27, 2012.
This was the 14th manifestation of this charity day, which has raised an average of 1.5 million baht per annum for the Club’s service projects. This January 2012 event raised just over 2 million baht, the second highest result in the event’s history.
