The Rotary Club of Bangkok South received its charter on August 7, 1961. We are one of the oldest Rotary clubs in Thailand and celebrated our 50th anniversary in 2011.
Our membership fluctuates between 100-120 people from around 20 countries, making us one of the largest and most diverse Rotary Clubs in Thailand. We meet every Friday at lunch time.
To quote one of our Past Presidents:
‘This is not just a luncheon club. We offer a blend of very good fellowship and meaningful community service.’
All of us want to give something back to the communities in which we live and work, particularly to those who are less advantaged than we are and who need a helping hand to improve the quality of their lives. Rotary can be the perfect medium to help do this!
Each year we raise about Baht 4 million from various fund raising activities, plus other funds from a variety of sponsorship and cooperative programmes.
All of this money is channeled directly to projects benefiting the poor and disadvantaged in Thailand, with an emphasis on sustainable projects assisting children.
All monies raised go completely and directly to our charity projects. There are no commissions or operating costs deducted whatsoever.
Members give their time and effort freely and for free, and the Club’s operating costs are funded by separate membership fees.
